Becky Holland: Morning Rambles

thWSGW5CENThought 1

God loved all of us do much that He let Jesus suffer and die for us. Jesus was His Son. God did all of that even though we all can be pretty ugly to each other and gossipy and nosy and full of drama. He gave up Jesus so we would have the opportunity to live and go to Heaven. (John 3;16)

And. Yet we are still acting like fools?

That’s why me and my house in all of our imperfections, messiness, struggles, and goofiness have rededicated life to putting God first and everything else second.

It is not an easy journey but benefitting from God”s promises is so much better than anything Trump or Hillary or Pokemon Go or Facebook or Twitter can offer. His promises don’t just quench you, they nourish you.

Thought 2

Politically, due to my job, I keep my mouth shut. But I will say I am not a fan of either national candidate or mud slinging. I support my party of choice and the one closest to my beliefs. My prayer is no matter who wins that we all realize that is our President and for this country to overcome the mess is to work together and not fight. Be accountable and hold the President and leaders accountable. We don’t have to like our leaders or agree with them, but we need to get along to bypass all these other countries who are moving past us in education, technology, agriculture, military and even religiously.

What happened to United we stand?

Getting on our knees and praying about this and our next President would be a great way to help instead of bashing folks.

Just my opinion.

Thought 3

As a journalist, I have been privy to many off the record conversations, and though there are times I’d love to lay it out there, I don’t. Even when I know what I know off the record could make changes I,don’t, I was raised to believe when someone gives you their word, that is something that should be kept.

Because when, all is said and done, folks, and you pull away all the money, power, titles, credentials, toys that a person has, what is left?

Their word,

If you can’t trust someone’s word, then don’t walk but be like Gump run.

If you are gut is telling you that one of the Presidential candidates’ word isn’t trustworthy, go with your gut. Not public opinion.

You don’t have to conform to the world. Romans 12:2.
