Books, books, books. Friends who helped me move laughed at me. My clothes, kitchen stuff and other things took maybe one or two boxes and bags to move. But my books – I had more than what appeared to be eight boxes full of books – plus three bags.
What can I say? I have been an avid reader and lover of words and stories since I was a babe. Walking into a bookstore sends me into shivers of joy – probably like when most women look at diamonds or chocolate or clothes.
I’d rather curl up with a good book, a cup of coffee and some popcorn then wear furs, high heels and have a credit card that has no limit on it.
My best friends aren’t people – they are my books. My books have allowed me to have many adventures from all eras of time, all over the world and become “friends” with the most unique characters. My dad said they never had to worry about me as a kid – give me a book and I was occupied for hours.
Several years ago, I was trying out this blog thing and trying to decide what I was going to do with it – write serious stuff, write fiction, ramble, be religious or what, and that is when I said, books. Why not review books on my blog? I started it and had about 102 reviews, had a following of about 550 people and was recognized on the book review circuit by several publishing houses. I had such fun. I would work, and then come home for work and would read, play with the dog, read and write about a book. It was my hobby and passion and it made me happy. I could walk through book stores, libraries and book sections for hours.
There are a certain type of books I won’t touch or review – science fiction, horror and well, the Xrated/romance type of stuff. Doesn’t interest me. Certain times of historical fiction don’t interest me either, but I will read them and give them a chance. I have come across a few good ones.
So, I decided to give it a try again. The Crazy Mutt Ink will consist of some short story fiction and some thoughts from time to time, but it is main course of action will be reviewing books and interviewing authors.
If you have a book you want reviewed or want to know more about an author or have a suggestion – email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or comment on the blog. Please follow the blog and share it with friends.
So, I am off to read, read read.
