Julie Barton, in her early 20s, fell apart. The thing is she fell apart many miles away from home and on the floor of her tiny kitchen. Life had overwhelmed her -and finally she just gave in.
The pit she was in was deep, dark and she couldn’t get out of it. Her mother came and brought her home to Ohio. Barton tells the journey of her depression and how she slowly, even after failed attempts by psychiatrists and others. Finally, one day, she asked if she could adopt a puppy. Her parents thought it was a great idea.
Bunker came. Julie got a friend. Bunker became her world.
The pages are filled with heart, with love, with the reality of depression and the healing it takes daily to get back into a bright spot.
Barton also shows how a dog can heal even the worst of situations.
